Kriss Super V [industrial design]

Firearms are typically not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of industrial design, and with good reason. Regardless of your opinion on arms control, most weapon designs follow a very standard formula. While this reduces training time for the soldier, it doesn’t exactly promote out of the box thinking. Enter the Kriss Super V.

The artists rendering above is accurate. It may look like it belongs on the set of the next Star Wars movie, but the Kriss is in production right now. 3D modeling of the internal mechanisms allowed for unique innovations, among them being the unique form factor and the fact that it can fire a .45 ACP round at full auto with little muzzle rise.

Don’t understand what I’m talking about? Does it matter? The thing is a masterpiece of industrial design.
